Our 1st Class Reunion Meeting...

Hello All,
I just wanted to send out a message regarding the first organizational meeting, which was held on August 23rd.

Firstly, a BIG thank you to all of you who have already jumped in and began to get things rolling!! The attendees were Brandy Rex, Christy Welsh, Deb Oswald, Donald Smale, Jennifer Kunkle and Laurel (Long) Zimmerman. We decided, with some feedback from other classmates, that the 15-year reunion would be a picnic type affair. This will enable attendees to bring their children along with them. Also, it is the most cost effective type of event. Currently we are compiling information on locations for the reunion. Some of the spots suggested were: Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Chapel Field, Mauch Chunk Lake, the Grange, and Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club. If anyone has any other suggestions or information about the mentioned places please let us know.

It was also strongly suggested that we do at least one fundraiser to defray the cost of the event. In this matter, we will need a lot of help .The class accounts currently have a balance of $1,120.98. Some of the suggestions given were: Joe Corbie’s pizza, cookie dough, hoagie sale, Longaberger/Pampered Chef basket bingo, and or Longaberger basket/Pampered Chef calendar. Anyone who has other ideas for a money making venture and would be willing to help out in any way please let us know ASAP.

Some of the other items that will need to be decided are:
· Entertainment
· Decorations/Theme/Favors (if any or what type)
· Catering
· Pictures (should we have a group shot again?)

Christy has generously volunteered to create a class website, which will hopefully keep us all in better contact and well informed. Keep an eye out for more information on that.

The next meeting will hopefully be at the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club. We thought that it may bring more people to the meetings if it were in a public place. Confirmation on that is still pending, but if all else fails the next meeting will be at Laurel (Long) Zimmerman’s house. This will be announced as soon as possible.

Another item high on our priority list is locating all classmates. If you have any updated addresses or name changes of classmates please pass on the information. Our goal is to include everyone in this reunion.
